The Brew is based in Austin, Texas and formed around three brothers, Michael, Mark and Joe Rodriguez, who have played together for more than 30 years. Lead guitarist Michael Rodriguez marries fiery Latin-flavored guitar with flamenco, jazz and a touch of rock to produce yet another testament to the Brew’s incredibly electrifying style of Latin-Jazz.
An accomplished band with an incredible grass roots following, The Brew has opened for such diverse notables as the Rippingtons, George Howard, Everette Harp, Jeff Lorber, Chuchito Valdez, Hiroshima, Acoustic Alchemy, Larry Corryel, and Kirk Whalum. Michael’s talents are so diverse that he and the band have even opened for Willie Nelson, the Neville Brothers as well as other popular artists in various musical genres.
Beloved by other musicians and fans alike, The Brew has managed to maintain a solid base of loyal fans for many years. Their fans have remained loyal to the band through changes in musical direction and different lineups, which is quite an accomplishment in a fickle industry.
