days, you can't open a magazine or read the news without hearing
about the latest mobile gadgets and applications. Every day, tech
headlines are dominated by innovative ways mobile technology is
becoming more a part of our personal and business lives. Not surprisingly,
mobile applications have been embraced by the IT community first
and today, progressive companies are extending existing Remedy applications

studies and examples that explain what Remedy users are doing today
with mobile devices and how it's helping them cut costs and improve
productivity. During the session, we'll mobilize Remedy Incident
Management live on BlackBerry and provide tips and best practices

Rapid
Deployment of BMC Remedy Service Request Management
|
|
C304
(BIRDS OF A FEATHER)
|
BMC’s
Service Request Management product is a powerful application with
a great deal of flexibility. With that power and flexibility comes
a certain amount of complexity. Conducting an SRM engagement presents
new challenges around the initial requirements gathering process
as well as challenges, both procedural and technical, around the
build and deployment phases of the engagement. This talk is meant
to address these latter challenges in the build and deployment phases.
Effective Technologies has extended its framework (previously used
primarily for loading ITSM foundation data) to load large numbers
of Service Request Definitions (and their underlying components)
from a collection of csv files. The framework has been further extended
to allow rapid duplication of Service Request Definitions using
a user-friendly front end. The framework is packaged with a set
of SRD templates that can be leveraged to rapidly roll out pre-defined
content and jump start your SRM deployment.
