Rapid Deployment of BMC Remedy Service Request Management

C304
(BIRDS OF A FEATHER)
BMC’s Service Request Management product is a powerful application with a great deal of flexibility. With that power and flexibility comes a certain amount of complexity. Conducting an SRM engagement presents new challenges around the initial requirements gathering process as well as challenges, both procedural and technical, around the build and deployment phases of the engagement. This talk is meant to address these latter challenges in the build and deployment phases.

Effective Technologies has extended its framework (previously used primarily for loading ITSM foundation data) to load large numbers of Service Request Definitions (and their underlying components) from a collection of csv files. The framework has been further extended to allow rapid duplication of Service Request Definitions using a user-friendly front end. The framework is packaged with a set of SRD templates that can be leveraged to rapidly roll out pre-defined content and jump start your SRM deployment.
